Argentine reinforcements arrive in Australia from Europe

Thirteen Argentine reinforcements have arrived in Australia from Europe. Twelve of them play their rugby in France and one does so in England. The figure represents the largest number of foreign-based players on a Pumas roster in five years.

The thirteen new arrivals are in Australia, but are not with the camp. They are in self-isolation and will remain as such for fourteen days. They are under the watch of assistant coach Nicolás Fernández Miranda and physiotherapist Rodolfo Broggi.

The arrivals from Europe will subsequently join the thirty-two already in Australia. Argentina’s roster has multiple players across all positions. They range from two for fullback to six for flanker.

Twelve of the Argentine reinforcements will be ready for immediate service to Head Coach Mario Ledesma. The one player in doubt is Facundo Isa. He was injured playing recently for Toulon in a Top 14 match.

None of the European-based players will be considered for this coming weekend’s fixture. Argentina will play a warm-up match against Super Rugby side the NSW Waratahs.
