Poasa Waqanibau returning to Free Jacks in 2021

Poasa Waqanibau will return for the New England Free Jacks in 2021. The 26-year-old Fijian enters the second of a three-year contract that runs through the 2022 Major League Rugby season.

Arriving from the Fijian Drua, Waqanibau showed off his pace and power in 2020 with two tries scored, though discipline was an issue with two yellow cards also on his stats sheet. He started all five games for the Free Jacks, splitting his time between outside center and right wing.

New England’s outside backs division also includes Scottish newcomer Dougie Fife and returnees Beaudein Waaka and Mitch Wilson. There are two incoming midfielders in Otago’s Aleki Morris-Lome and England u19 cap Harry Barlow from Harlequins.
