Kenya 7s stars bolster SX10 side for World Tens Series

Five players from Kenya’s World Sevens Series team have been drafted into Frankie Horne’s SX10 entry for the inaugural World Tens Series event in Bermuda. All-time scoring legend Collins Injera is named along with Willy Ambaka, Andrew Amonde, Oscar Ouma, and Oscar Dennis.

They aren’t the only Sevens circuit stars present. Wales captain Luke Treharne is named, as are Ireland’s Harry McNulty and long-time Blitzboks star Cecil Afrika. The latter recently signed for the San Diego Legion. Other MLR players are Utah prop Frikkie de Beer, Old Glory flanker Cory Daniel, NOLA center JP du Plessis, and RUNY winger Connor Wallace-Sims.

Three players from the Southern Kings Pro 14 squad have joined up. Back row Tienie Burger, powerful winger Christian Ambadiang, and former Baby Boks flyhalf or center JT Jackson. Heavyweight prop Marzuq Maarman and towering lock Gary Porter are lesser-known talents from South Africa.

Seven of eight teams have now been confirmed for the tournament that begins on October 24. This is only the second full roster unveiled, however, the first being the Ohio Aviators who are composed almost entirely of domestic MLR talent.
