Free Jacks confirm signing of draft pick Justin Johnson

The New England Free Jacks have confirmed the signature of first round draft pick Justin Johnson for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. He follows second rounder Spencer Krueger in committing to a professional deal with the club.

Johnson was selected 6th overall in June’s inaugural MLR Collegiate Draft. The 22-year-old flanker from Inglewood, California, earned USA u20 honors before being named a Collegiate All-American while attending Life University. Several of his Running Eagles teammates are contracted to Rugby ATL.

New England now have two new Junior All-American flankers signed up for 2021, the other Jack Miller. They join incoming professionals Jack Ram, Joe Johnston, and Tera Mtembu as current back row options for the club in 2021 with the versatile Conor Kindregan confirmed as returning.
