Dallas signs center John Vasurakuta from Fiji Warriors

The Dallas Jackals have announced the signing of a second Fiji Warriors representative in the span of a week. Outside center John Vasurakuta follows flyhalf Tuidraki Samusamuvodre in joining the expansion side ahead of the 2021 Major League Rugby season.

Vasurakuta is just 20 years old and might have been playing in the World Rugby u20 Championship this year had it not been cancelled. Instead the Nadroga provincial standout turned out for the Warriors alongside Samusamuvodre in the Pacific Challenge, starting in the wins over Samoa ‘A’ and Tonga ‘A’.

In 2018 Vasurakuta earned a scholarship to Timaru Boys School in New Zealand where he also trained with the Crusaders Knights development squad. A tall and rangy ball carrier, he is known for his dynamic attacking play and is also capable of playing on the wing.
