Old Glory DC have re-signed USA age-grade international Will Vakalahi for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 21-year-old prop has been with the team since their inception having been their second-ever addition ahead of their 2019 exhibition series.
After playing both in the back row and age loosehead prop for the Junior All-Americans, Vakalahi switched to tighthead this past season. He appeared in all five matches during Old Glory’s inaugural MLR campaign, starting against Austin and ATL just before the season was suspended.
DC have now signed six front row players for 2021 including props Jack Iscaro, Jamie Dever, and Steven Longwell, and hookers James King and Mo Katz. Tendai Mtawarira is set to retire while 2020 squad members Jake Turnbull, Khalid Williams, Max Lum, Mike Sosene-Feagai, Dante Lopresti, and Spencer Fullerton remain unconfirmed.
