Michael Cheika to work with Argentina for the Rugby Championship

Michael Cheika is to work with Argentina for the Rugby Championship. The former Head Coach of Australia will be the “External Consultant” to Los Pumas.

The appointment marks a reunion for Cheika and Mario Ledesma. The current Head Coach of Argentina was an assistant to Cheika at the Wallabies for three years.

The 2020 Rugby Championship will be played exclusively in Australia. The twelve match competition will have two fixtures per Saturday from November 07 to December 12. Los Pumas will face world champions South Africa in the opening match.

Argentina will have a 46-man roster for the Rugby Championship. The roster will involve a combination of Argentina-based and European-based players. The Argentine-based players are currently preparing for the competition in Uruguay.
