Tevita Tameilau re-signs with San Diego Legion

Tevita Tameilau has signed a new contract with the San Diego Legion for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 30-year-old USA international is the fifth player re-signed by the team in the off-season following Nate Augspurger, Siaosi Mahoni, Aaron Mitchell, and Save Totovosau.

Tameilau returned from a 17-month stint with Glasgow Warriors to sign with San Diego ahead of the 2020 campaign. He had previously played for the Utah Warriors during the inaugural 2018 MLR season. The 15-test veteran started the first three games of 2020 for the Legion at No8.

With Keni Nasoqeqe already under contract and now a confirmed returnee, San Diego will boast two powerful ball carrying options at the back of the scrum in 2021. They are joined in the back row by Eagles flanker Psalm Wooching and former England captain Chris Robshaw, with former Fiji Sevens star Jasa Veremalua also expected to stay for a third season.
