Nathan Sylvia stays on with San Diego Legion

Nathan Sylvia will play a fourth season with the San Diego Legion. The 26-year-old prop enters the second year of his contract signed in August of last year and joins fellow front rowers Dean Muir and Aaron Mitchell in confirming for the 2021 Major League Rugby campaign.

Sylvia has settled in at the No1 position since making the switch from tighthead in 2019. He continued to share time with Faka’osi Pifeleti in the 2020 season, playing four games with two starts. Jamie Dever also provided cover at loosehead after arriving from Houston.

The Legion are still to name any new players for next season since the Chris Robshaw announcement in June. Collegiate Draft picks Patrick Madden and Cole Zarcone were added just days earlier. All signings in recent weeks have been returnees with the exception of new coaching consultant Eddie Jones.
