Free Jacks sign Kings prop Xandré Vos

The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of loosehead prop Xandré Vos on a two-year deal through the 2022 Major League Rugby season. Two weeks shy of his 24th birthday, the Pretoria native arrives from the Southern Kings, one of the two South African franchises in the Guinness Pro 14.

Vos made his senior debut for Eastern Province in the 2017 SuperSport Challenge, and made an immediate jump to the Currie Cup. He was called into the Pro 14 squad in 2018 and now has 10 caps in the fully professional competition, most recently playing against Connacht in March.

He will find a familiar face at the Free Jacks – Vos has played opposite new teammate Erich de Jager on more than one occasion. New England now have seven props contracted for 2021, including Donald Brighouse, Kyle Ciquera, Kensuke Hatakeyama, Quentin Newcomer, and draft pick Spencer Krueger.
