Saturday was a winning Top 14 debut for Guido Petti. The Argentine second-rower put in an 80 minute shift for Bordeaux who had home advantage against Brive. Bordeaux were 25-20 winners in the Week 2 Top 14 fixture.
Petti was joined by RWC 2015 teammate Santiago Cordero. Both Pumas started the match and the latter crossed for a second half try. It put Bordeaux in a commanding position, but penalties and a red card to Seta Tamanivalu saw Brive fighting back.
Despite being a Week 2 fixture the match was Bordeaux~s first of the campaign. The team’s opening match was postponed due to COVID-19. It will take place on Saturday, September 26. Petti and Cordero will have the opportunity of facing three other Pumas: Marcos Kremer, Pablo Matera and Nicolás Sánchez. The trio all start today for Stade Français against Castres.
