Free Jacks confirm Ronan McCusker for 2021 season

The New England Free Jacks have confirmed the return of Ronan McCusker for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. He continues an existing contract and joins Jackson Thiebes in the team’s second row stocks publicly revealed thus far.

McCusker, 25, lined up for the team in their initial exhibition matches in late 2018, before playing on loan with Austin Elite during the 2019 MLR campaign. He appeared in one match during the shortened 2020 season, coming on as a replacement against the Seattle Seawolves.

Born and raised in Ireland, McCusker qualifies for the USA through his mother, a native of Philadelphia. At 6’7″ (2.00m) he is an imposing physical presence and a player of interest for Eagles selectors. New England are yet to confirm the returns of international pair Josh Larsen and Ben Landry.
