ARN Player of the Week – AJ MacGinty

This past week was a busy one in the English Premiership with games scattered across multiple days. Teams were forced to play mid-week games in an effort to speed up the completion of the 2019-2020 season. It has resulted in imbalanced rosters and some lopsided results.

A quick mention for Nicolás Freitas, who for a second straight week stood out for Carrasco Polo. This time it was a 45-10 thrashing of the Lobos in Uruguay’s top club division. Our selection once again comes from the Premiership, however, with AJ MacGinty getting the spotlight.

The US Eagles flyhalf led Sale to victory in both of their games. On Tuesday MacGinty kicked five penalty goals for 15 points in the 20-11 win over Wasps, missing just one kick at goal. He followed that up with a second 5/6 effort from the tee, this time all conversions in the 40-7 blowout over Bristol on Saturday.
