Keni Nasoqeqe confirmed for San Diego

The San Diego Legion have confirmed barnstorming forward Keni Nasoqeqe for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. He returns for the second year of the contract signed in July of last year, the sixth forward to officially commit to the upcoming campaign.

Nasoqeqe has been a real find for the Legion since joining from Belmont Shore ahead of the 2019 season. He started a dozen games at lock that year but switched to his preferred No8 spot in 2020. The 27-year-old scored a try against NOLA and followed up with a rampaging performance in the win over RUNY.

Originally from Fiji, Nasoqeqe is US-qualified on residency and will be a player of interest for Eagles selectors in 2021. He follows star winger Save Totovosau on San Diego’s announcement schedule, with fellow Fijians Jasa Veremalua and Tira Patterson also set to continue at Torero Stadium.
