Two-year New England extension for Mitch Wilson

Mitch Wilson has committed to the New England Free Jacks through the end of the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The two-year extension for the 24-year-old utility back is the fifth re-signing confirmed by the club during the off-season.

Wilson started four games for the Free Jacks in the shortened 2020 campaign, scoring two tries. He seamlessly switched between wing and fullback showing good positional awareness and ball handling skills. Despite his small stature Wilson is a sound tackler who can also slot into the midfield.

Originally from Australia, Wilson emigrated to Florida at the age of 15 and is Eagles qualified. The three-time Collegiate All-American represented the USA Select XV at both the 2017 and 2018 Americas Pacific Challenge tournaments. Younger brother Bailey is a back row forward with the Utah Warriors.
