Two-year extension for Free Jacks hooker Steven Hinshaw

Steven Hinshaw has signed a two-year contract extension with the New England Free Jacks that ties him to the club through the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old hooker is the second front row player confirmed by the club this week following incoming prop Erich de Jager.

A product of Dartmouth College and Mystic River, Hinshaw has been a part of the Free Jacks since their first ever match against the Arrows in October 2018. In 2020 he played a reserve role behind Sean McNulty, appearing in four matches and scoring his first try as a professional against Seattle.

Hinshaw is one of a trio of young American front rowers that played for the club in 2020 along with props Kyle Ciquera and Quentin Newcomer. In 2021 they will be joined by tighthead prospect Spencer Krueger, selected by New England in the MLR Collegiate Draft.
