A new feature on Americas Rugby News is our selection of Player of the Week. In the absence of sufficient competition to select an Americas team, we will instead nominate exceptional performances from Americas-qualified players for individual recognition.
Honorable mention goes to Nicolás Freitas, who was in top form for Carrasco Polo in their rout of Seminario in Uruguay’s top club division. If we consider Martín Landajo as last week’s unofficial recipient, our choice this week is another Harlequins standout.
Paul Lasike came on in the second half against and Saracens. While it was too late to erase a 22-3 halftime deficit, the big man restored credit to the scoreline as he crashed over for two tries in the final quarter. Lasike looked it peak condition and confirmed he has streamlined somewhat during the time off.
