Test Players feature as rugby resumes in Uruguayo de Clubes

Rugby is back in the Americas. The Uruguayo de Clubes starts today. The competition will featured eleven teams and having five matches per round. The start of the Uruguayo de Clubes marks the return of rugby after many months; matches were suspended throughout the Americas in March.

Round one of the Campeonato Uruguayo will see five league matches: Old Christians vs Cebos, Los Cuervos vs PSG, Champagnat vs Trebol, Lobos vs MVCC, and Carrasco Polo vs Seminario. Old Boys will have a bye.

Uruguayan publication Referí notes that an agreement means that Los Teros have returned to their clubs. Among them are professional players from the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) and Major League Rugby.

In all, nine of the eleven clubs will field test players. The complete list is as follows:

Carrasco Polo: Felipe Etcheverry (Peñarol), Nicolás Freitas (Peñarol), Juan Juan Garese (Peñarol), Rodrigo Silva (Austin, U.S.)
