Chile’s central-south High Performance Center is ready in Concepción. The center is a combined effort between the Chile Rugby Federation and Sudamérica Rugby. The facilities in Concepción are to be one of four rugby High Performance Centers nationwide.
The third largest Chilean urban area will provide the country with an unprecedented means of player preparation and production. Carlos Morandé noted that 37 players will train at the new center in Concepción.
The new High Performance Center will operate for all categories. As such it is not only to be a facility for adult players. The program will aid lower age grades including u18’s, u16’s and u14’s. The importance of this measure cannot be understated as Chile has long been a leader in the junior categories, but has struggled to replicated this at the seniors.
