Free Jacks secure John Poland through 2023 season

John Poland has signed a two-year contract extension with the New England Free Jacks. With his existing contract running through 2021, the new deal ties the 23-year-old scrumhalf to the club through the 2023 Major League Rugby season.

Arriving from Munster ahead of their inaugural campaign, the Ireland u20 international started all five games for the Free Jacks in 2020. Poland’s aggressive running game was a feature of New England’s attack and he notched a team-leading four tries including a double against the NOLA Gold.

The Free Jacks have now confirmed three extensions in the off-season including Poland’s halfback partner Tadhg Leader and second row Jackson Thiebes. Among the six new signings are former Sharks No8 Tera Mtembu and their most recent addition, Tongan international flanker Jack Ram.
