Siaosi Mahoni re-signs with San Diego Legion

US Eagles lock Siaosi Mahoni has signed on for another year with the San Diego Legion. The 6’8″ (2.03m) colossus will enter his fourth Major League Rugby season with the club after returning stateside from French Pro D2 club Narbonne in 2018.

Mahoni appeared in all five games for San Diego in the shortened 2020 season, starting the first three. Tipping the scales at over 130kg (285lbs), the 23-year-old adds considerable ballast on the right side of the engine room and is a fearsome presence with ball in hand.

Adding two his two Eagles caps won in the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship will be a goal for Mahoni in 2021. He was long-listed for the 2019 World Cup but remains behind the likes of Newcastle’s Greg Peterson and Oxford student-to-be Nick Civetta in the second row pecking order.
