Two more years with Free Jacks for Jackson Thiebes

New England Free Jacks second row Jackson Thiebes has extended his stay with the club through the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old will play in his second season as a professional in 2021, having joined the team ahead of their very first exhibition match in October 2018.

A former Collegiate Football lineman with the Montana Grizzlies, Thiebes used his 6’6″ (1.98m) frame to good effect in the shortened 2020 season. His high work rate and set piece accuracy earned him a starting spot in the first three games of the season before injury knocked him out of the remaining two games.

Thiebes is the second returning player confirmed following international flyhalf Tadhg Leader. Earlier this week the team announced the addition of England age-grade center Harry Barlow, one of three new signings thus far along with back row Tera Mtembu and outside back Dougie Fife.
