Psalm Wooching stays on with San Diego

Psalm Wooching will stay with the San Diego Legion for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. With the potential of a new franchise looming in his native Hawai’i, the 26-year-old flanker will see out at least the second of his existing three-year contract.

After winning four caps for the Eagles in 2018, Wooching signed on with San Diego for the 2019 campaign. He was an immediate success, starting 13 games while switching between blindside and openside. In 2020 he started every game at No7 and was in career-best form when the season came to a halt.

The Legion have now confirmed three returning players including hooker Dean Muir and scrumhalf Nate Augspurger. Wooching is set to play alongside former England captain Chris Robshaw in 2021, the only new signing thus far apart from draft picks Patrick Madden and Cole Zarcone.
