Argentina name 46 players to begin training on Thursday

Argentina have named 46 players to begin training on Thursday. It contains players based in the country who will b considered for the Rugby Championship.

Mario Ledesma’s roster comes shortly after the Argentine government provided approval for Los Pumas to train. Ledesma will now begin working with the players on Thursday, August 13. The team will play in the Rugby Championship from November 07 to December 12.

The roster includes established players from Los Jaguares and developing names from Los Ceibos. They are joined by newcomers from the junior levels: Lucas Bur, Lucio Cinti, Juan Martín González, Joaquín Oviedo, Ignacio Ruiz and Marcelo Toledo Valentini.

Outgoing Jaguares centers Jerónimo de la Fuente, Matías Moroni, and Matías Orlando have all been included. The veteran trio will join their new clubs in December.

Other positions contrast to the experience in the mid-field. None of the second-rowers have been capped previously and two of the three fly halves are uncapped. Both positions are set to be dominated by players based abroad.

Missing are players presently based abroad. Among them are 19 players who will be considered for the final roster to travel to New Zealand.
