Tiago Basco joins Independiente de Santander

Argentine winger Tiago Basco is on his way to Spain. The 23-year-old from San Isidro Club (SIC) will join Independiente de Santander for the upcoming season. The moves sees the club adding to its heavy contingent of players from Argentina.

Basco departs SIC after two seasons of playing at the peak level of Buenos Aires club rugby, the URBA Top 12. Prior to playing in the URBA competition, Basco spent time in New Zealand where he featured for the Auckland Rugby Academy in 2016.

The uncapped winger qualifies for Spain via player eligibility laws. He is 1.86m tall and weighs 90kg. Among his teammates will be Ignacio Contardi. The Argentine winger has 35 caps for Spain.
