RUNY welcomes back Will Leonard for the 2021 season

Will Leonard will continue to play for Rugby United New York in the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old center enters the third of a three-year contract signed in December 2018.

Standing 6’2″ (1.88m) and weighing nearly 230lbs (104kg), Leonard casts a formidable shadow in the midfield and is regarded as one of the toughest defenders in MLR. Since arriving ahead of the inaugural 2019 campaign he has started 15 games for the club. The two most recent appearances in 2020 were in the No13 shirt with all others at inside center.

Plans to play in New Zealand during the off-season were scuppered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently back at home in Limerick, Ireland, Leonard is set to return to New York in August to suit up for Old Blue in preparation for the 2021 MLR season set to begin in February.
