Jackals sign prospect Campbell Johnstone from Raptors

The Dallas Jackals have confirmed the addition of versatile back Campbell Johnstone for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. He is the 7th player from the withdrawn Colorado Raptors to be confirmed by the expansion franchise in recent weeks.

Johnstone, 22, was a High School All-American and represented the USA u20s before joining the Raptors in the fall of 2018. He made his professional debut as a replacement against the Arrows in May 2019, again coming off the bench just days later in the final game of the season against the SaberCats.

Though he did not make an appearance before the 2020 season was suspended, Johnstone remains a highly rated prospect. Standing a lofty 6’4″ (1.93m), he has played across the backline and was announced as a wing by Dallas but considered primarily a center for the Raptors.
