Rugby ATL confirms Bautista Ezcurra signing

Rugby ATL have announced the signature of Argentina international Bautista Ezcurra. Originally reported in early June, the club has confirmed a deal that runs through the 2022 Major League Rugby season.

Ezcurra, 25, arrives with five test caps, including starts against Scotland, South Africa, and New Zealand, and three seasons of Super Rugby with Los Jaguares. Prior to that he was nominated for Rookie of the Year for the 2015-16 World Sevens Series and represented Argentina at the 2016 Olympics.

The younger brother of Pumas scrumhalf Felipe Ezcurra, Bautista is a versatile backfielder but can be expected to play in the midfield for ATL, where he has won all of his Pumas caps. He is the first new signing confirmed for the 2021 campaign outside of draft picks Mike Matarazzo and John Scotti.
