Dallas signs Samoan lock Theo McFarland

The Dallas Jackals have announced the signing of Samoan second row Theo McFarland for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Standing 6’6″ (1.98m), the 24-year-old is the second lock confirmed by the club following Kody O’Neil and adds a considerable lineout presence.

McFarland’s aerial prowess is reflected by his athletic accomplishments. On top of playing rugby for the Vikings in the Samoan Super 9 domestic competition and Manuma Samoa in Global Rapid Rugby, he has also represented Samoa in several international basketball events.

The Jackals have now announced 15 players ahead of their inaugural campaign, with 11 signings adding to their four collegiate draft picks. Joining McFarland and O’Neil in the forward pack are MLR returnees Kelepi Fifita, Skyler Adams, and Chad Gough.
