Kyle Sumsion re-signs for Rugby United New York

Rugby United New York’s third signing of the week is the extension of back row Kyle Sumsion through the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 30-year-old with five US Eagles caps follows a pair of new wingers in Fiji’s Apenisa Cakaubalavu and New Zealand 7s rep Fa’asiu Fuatai.

Sumsion was in vintage form for RUNY during their truncated 2020 campaign. He started the first three matches of the season, playing both No8 and blindside flanker, and scored three tries. After missing the game against former club Houston, he filled in as an emergency lock in the fierce battle at San Diego.

RUNY are to continue revealing signings on weekdays with two more to come this week. Fellow Eagles internationals Dylan Fawsitt and Nate Brakeley were confirmed as re-signings last week while Iona College scrumhalf Connor Buckley was the first new player announced last month.
