Sixteen years before Uruguay’s famous win over Fiji in Kamishi, Los Teros were winners over Georgia in Sydney, Australia. The match was a war of attrition with brutal defense from two highly committed teams.

The South Americans claimed victory and celebrated the win with their traveling supporters. Post match the players and coaching were ecstatic with there even being players running into the stands the hug supporters.

Captain Diego Aguirre had a strong performance and led the team well. Crossing for tries were right winger Alfonso Cardoso, hooker Diego Lamelas, and replacement flanker Nicolás Brignoni.
