LaRome White re-signs with Austin

The Austin Gilgronis have confirmed the re-signing of loosehead prop LaRome White for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he has now set for his third season in Texas after making the move from the Seattle Seawolves in 2019.

White, 26, enjoyed a breakthrough year with the Elite in 2019 despite the team’s poor record. He began the 2020 campaign as the team’s first choice No1 but dropped to backup duty with the arrival of former All Black Jamie Mackintosh. White would make just one replacement appearance in the final three games.

With Mason Pedersen also under contract the AGs now have two young American props in place for 2021. Mackintosh is expected to return in a player-coach capacity. The team will have new names at hooker as senior trio Tiaan Erasmus, Chris Schade, and Wilton Rebolo have all departed. 22-year-old Mason Koch was selected in the Collegiate Draft.
