Image Gallery – Fantasy MLR 7s Kit Designs

Could Major League Rugby ever run its own sevens competition, or perhaps a fun preseason tournament? The idea is often thrown around in fan discussions with the English Premiership’s own Sevens Series cited as an example that might be worth following.

Whether or not one ever comes to fruition, MLR fan Jonny Craenen took the idea one step further. The self-described amateur graphic designer created an entire lineup of kits for use in an MLR 7s event, even putting his own twist on each team’s logo design.

Notably altered are team names for Austin and Los Angeles. The controversial Giltinis have been subbed out for the ‘Los Angeles Lions’ while the Gilgronis revert to their original logo design used under both the Elite and Herd monikers.

We were so impressed with his efforts that we asked Mr. Craenen if we could publish the designs here, and he graciously agreed. Jonny’s designs can be found on his Instagram page.
