ATL prop Jamie Ferrante confirms retirement

Rugby ATL prop Jamie Ferrante has confirmed his retirement from professional rugby after just one season in Major League Rugby. The 27-year-old has opted to pursue a career in chiropractics, having completed his doctorate from Life University in 2019.

After playing both sides of the scrum for the Running Eagles, Ferrante focused on loosehead for ATL and played all five matches of the pandemic-shortened campaign. He started twice, against NOLA and Toronto, and proved an effective second choice to Eagles cap Chance Wenglewski.

Ferrante was one of six props on ATL’s roster for 2020, though tighthead Sam Chaney did not make appearance before the season was suspended. Wenglewski was joined by another Life product, Julian Montes, and import players Duane Aholelei and Cronan Gleeson.
