Ciencias Sevilla sign Juan Ignacio Pérez

Ciencias Sevilla have signed Juan Ignacio Pérez. The 28-year-old Argentine prop is the latest arrival for the 2020-2021 season. Ciencias recently signed two other Argentine players: fly half Rafael Migale and prop Facundo Pomponio from the Olímpia Lions.

Pérez comes from Buenos Aires club Pucará. He left the Pucará six years ago for Spain and he joins Ciencias Sevilla having previously played for La Vila and Bathco.

The 118kg (260lbs), 1.82m (6′) Pérez can play at both loose head and tight head prop. In the 2018-2019 season he was voted into the Dream Team for the Liga Heineken season in Spain.

Ciencias play in the Division de Honor, the elite competition in Spain. The team is the southern most side in the competition with the nearest teams being based in Madrid. Ciencias played 17 rounds of the 2019-2020 season before it was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
