Argentine prop Nicolás Zaffaroni joins Barcelona

Barça Rugbi have recruited prop Nicolás Zaffaroni. The Argentine front-rowers joins Barcelona after previously having played for fellow Catalonian side CR Hospitalet.

Capable of playing both loose head and tight head, Zaffaroni moves to Barcelona for his third season playing in Spain. In his first season he played eighteen matches for CR Hospitalet, scoring six tries. In his second season he scored seven tries from sixteen starts before the premature ending to the campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zaffaroni is from Buenos Aires’  Club Atlético Banco Nación. The club produced one of Argentina’s greatest players of all-time, Hugo Porta. Among other players Banco Nación produced former Pumas center and assistant coach Fabián Turnes.
