Nice Recruit Argentine players Jerónimo Negrotto and Martín Freytes

French club Stade Niçois have recruited two Argentine players for the 2020-2021 season. The team will compete in the new Pro D3, France’s new professional third division behind the first division (Top 14) and the second division (Pro D2).

Prop Jerónimo Negrotto joins following his stint as a medical joker with Agen. He joined the Top 14 lub from Pro D2 side Mont-de-Marsan, his home from 2016-2020. From Rosario, Negrotto represented Argentina at junior levels but is uncapped in the test arena.

Flanker Martín Freytes joins Nice from Narbonne. The French Mediterranean club of Narbonne was his second professional side. His professional career started in Italy where he played for Lazio from 2017-2018. Nice will thus be his third European club and will see his professional career clocking up five years.

Earlier this year Stade Niçois signed Agustín Ormaechea. The Uruguayan played together with Negrotto at Mont-de-Marsan and has been based in France since 2013. Nice will be his third club and will see him completing a decade as a professional in the country.
