Dallas Jackals sign Raptors lock Kody O’Neil

The Dallas Jackals have confirmed the signing of Kody O’Neil from the Colorado Raptors. He is the first official signing for the expansion side with their four Collegiate Draft picks still to secure a Major League Rugby contract.

Standing 6’4″ (1.93m), O’Neil was a regular in the Raptors pack since joining early in the inaugural 2018 campaign. In three seasons with the club he appeared in 25 games, a mark bettered by only four of his teammates. The 27-year-old Oregon native started three games in 2020.

Dallas are set to benefit considerably from the demise of Colorado’s MLR side. Among several others linked to the club are hooker Chad Gough and scrumhalf Carlo de Nysschen. The Jackals recently confirmed a strong coaching staff of Allen Clarke, Elaine Vassie, and Lee Radford.
