Jeff Hassler put in a storming performance against Canada in Leicester in 2015. The Canadian winger scored a brilliant solo try wherein he beat five defenders. His try gave Canada a 15-0 lead over Romania in the 43rd minute.
Hassler took an inside pass from Gordon McRorie and form there put on the afterburners and hand-off’s to miraculously score. Nathan Hirayama also contributed to the try. The fly half made a break from a prior phase to get Canada into an attacking position.
The match ended Canada’s RWC 2015 campaign. For Romania it was their third of four pool matches. They backed-up to face Italy, after three rest days, in Exeter.
