Rimas Álvarez Kairelis in all-time Perpignan Dream Team

Rimas Álvarez Kairelis has been voted in the all-time Perpignan Dream Team on Dico du Sport. The former Pumas second-rower played for the French team in the Top 14 from 2001-2011. He originally arrived as a medical joker, joining fellow Argentine second-rower Alejandro Allub at the club.

During his time playing for Perpignan Álvarez Kairelis won the Top 14 in 2009 and was a beaten finalist in 2004 and 2010. He also played in a European Champions Cup Final, losing 22-17 to Toulouse in 2003 in Dublin.

Álvarez Kairelis’ longevity for Perpignan was matched at international level. He debuted for Argentina in 1998 against Paraguay an played his final test match against England in 2009. He earned 44 caps, a reflection of the lack of matches that Los Pumas played prior to joining the Rugby Championship.
