On this Day in 1924: USA Win Gold in Paris Olympics

On this day in 1924 the USA men won Gold Medals at the Paris Olympics Games. On May 18, 1924, the USA Eagles became the last team to win Gold in rugby XV. Rugby 7’s was introduced into the Olympic Games for the 2016 Rio Games. In the abbreviated form of the sport, Fiji won the men’s Gold.

At the 1924 Paris Olympic Games the USA faced hosts, France in the Final. They did so at the Stade Olympique, where they successfully defended their medals that they had won at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp, Belgium.
