Canadian international Paige Farries has signed for Worcester Warriors of the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s. The 25-year-old outside back is originally from Red Deer, Alberta, and has 10 caps to her name since debuting against England in November 2017.
Farries makes the move from BC Premier League side Westshore having previously played for the Universities of Alberta, Western Ontario, and Victoria. She will be joined at Worcester by another Westshore player Caity Mattinson, an England international scrumhalf with prior Premier 15s experience at Bristol and Darlington Mowden Park.
The Premier 15s is England’s elite women’s division that was formed in 2017. It operates as a semi-professional competition with 10 teams, eight of whom are attached to men’s Premiership sides. Select matches are streamed weekly on England’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
Current internationals already signed up at Worcester include club captain and Scotland lock Lyndsay O’Donnell, England stars Lydia Thompson and Laura Keates, and Wales trio Carys Phillips, Sioned Harries, and Ffion Lewis. Thompson is one of 28 England players currently contracted full-time by the RFU.
