World Rugby has added Jordan, Qatar and Turkey as members. The three countries all obtain Associate Membership status. With it the number of World Rugby national unions in membership is now 127.
Rugby has a differing history in the three new unions. Jordan and Qatar were a part of the former Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union (ARGFU) which was divided into national unions in 2010. Both are a part of Rugby Asia.
The Turkish Rugby Federation (TRF) was founded in 2011 and has been involved in Rugby Europe since 2012.
