World Rugby Hall of Famer Felipe Contepomi claimed a 25-point-haul against Wales in 2001. He did so by scoring a full-house – a try, conversion, penalty and a drop-goal. He outscored Wales on his own by 9 points in the contest. Argentina’s remaining five points went to winger Gonzalo Camardón.
Contepomi’s try came in the 35th minute of play. It saw the then Bristol fly half charging down Iestyn Harris to chase, regather and take Argentina to a 10-0 lead.
It was his third test match against Wales and marked his first win over the Dragons. During his illustrious test career for Argentina, Contepomi would play in three decades. All of these included a match against the Welsh in Wales.
