Ramiro Moyano has agreed to terms to remain at Toulon until 2022. The Tucumán winger / fullback has re-signed for the French Top 14 club on a new two-year deal.
The 29-year-old joined Toulon from Los Jaguares in 2019. He did so after RWC 2019, making Toulon his first international professional experience. He made his first appearance for the Top 14 side in November and has thus far scored two tries for the club.
His departure from Argentina saw him joining Santiago Cordero, Juan Imhoff and Axel Muller as Argentine wingers in the Top 14. For Los Jaguares this enabled greater gametime opportunities for others.
It remains to be seen whether or not re-signing with Toulon will have an impact on his Pumas career. Prior to his move abroad, Moyano had been a mainstay in the test side. He made his test debut against Chile in 2011, earning six caps until 2014. His first cap in 2016 was the start of his longevity in the test team. It coincided with him being a starting player for Los Jaguares in Super Rugby.
Moyano commented on his new contract:
“I am very happy with this opportunity and the confidence that the club has reiterated by allowing me to continue to be part of the great RCT family for the coming two years. I am very focused on replaying the faith and giving my best, both for the club and for the Toulon supporters.”
