Memorable Americas Tries – Carlos Arboleya vs Fiji 2015

One of the lasting moments from RWC 2019 was Uruguay’s famous win over Fiji in Kamaishi. The historic upset was a rematch from RWC 2015 when the teams met in Milton Keynes, England. On that occasion Fiji were playing their fourth, and final, pool match and Uruguay were playing their third. Los Teros were yet to score a try in the tournament and when they did it was thoroughly enjoyed.

The try was started and scored by Carlos Arboleya. The hooker threw the lineup before rolling the maul forward for scrum half Agustín Ormaechea to detach and attack. Four phases later Ormaechea passed to Arboleya who rampaged over for the score.
