USA Rugby renames Development Teams

USA Rugby has announced a change to their naming standard for all development programs. The new format will apply to age grade and senior development sides, men’s and women’s, and both sevens and 15-a-side rugby.

Age grade sides will now be strictly labeled according to their level of competition – under-18, under-20, and under-23. The All-American brand used previously will continue to exist but only in the form of year-end honors lists for high school and collegiate level.

Additionally all senior level development sides will be known as the Falcons. This was already in place for the sevens program. The USA’s second senior XV-a-side team will adopt the Falcons name, discarding the USA Select XV name used during the Americas Pacific Challenge.
