Jaguares vs Highlanders Cancelled

There will be no match this evening in Buenos Aires. Despite the fixture having been confirmed as going ahead behind closed doors a decision was made hours before kick-off to cancel the match altogether.

The Highlanders now return to New Zealand awaiting an update regarding the season. The New Zealand government took the decision to block all travel into the country for the coming fourteen days. This means that the Highlanders ultimately need to return home quickly.

The decision to cancel Jaguares vs Highlanders  was made following uncertainty from Highlanders players and staff. They were concerned over needing to enter quarantine upon returning to New Zealand.

Earlier today SANZAAR confirmed that Super Rugby is indefinitely suspended. Questions remain as to when it will resume, or it it will in fact see another match played in the 2020 season.
