Major League Rugby suspends matches for 30 Days

Major League Rugby has suspended operations league-wide for 30 days with immediate effect. The decision follows that of several sporting organizations – the NBA, NHL, and MLB – to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s hoped that fixtures affected will be rescheduled once play resumes.

The Seattle Seawolves on Wednesday confirmed that at least two of their matches would be affected by an emergency state regulation restricting sporting events. A conference call with MLR franchise governors determined a league-wide suspension was the appropriate course of action.

Below is the official statement in its entirety.
