Harry Jones and Nathan Hirayama have been named in the official HSBC Dream Team for the Vancouver Sevens. Canada’s captains carried their team to a Bronze finish, the highest ever for the team since the tournament’s inception in 2016. They are the first Canadian players to be selected to the Men’s Dream Team this season.
Jones has been named in the forwards after scoring four tries in Canada’s six games, his ball proving vital particularly in the upset win over Fiji on Day One. Hirayama emerged as the tournament’s leading points scorer with 43, bring his season total to 141, just 18 behind Fiji’s Napolioni Bolaca.
Champions New Zealand and finalists Australia each supply one forward and one back. Tim Mikkelson and Caleb Clarke from the winners, Lachie Anderson and Lachie Miller from the runners-up. Rounding out the side is South Africa’s leading scorer Muller du Plessis.
